Winter is here and for the Midwest, that means many days of the same of thing over and over. Sometimes that makes a person a little stir crazy. To help you out with your boring winter days, we have compiled a list of 18 fun things to do banish your winter blues!
.) Go ice skating.
.) Build a winter bonfire and make s’mores.
.) Go for a sleigh ride.
.) If you have the equipment, go winter camping. If that’s too ambitious, check out your state parks for cabin or yurt rentals. Once you’re there, go on beautiful winter hikes (afterward, a cozy fire is definitely in order).
.) Book a massage at a luxurious spa-like Legacy Salon & Day Spa.
.) Go cross-country skiing.
.) Attend a dog-sled race. You don’t have to live in Alaska to see one of these – check your state’s Department of Natural Resources page, they usually have a list of upcoming events.
.) Go sledding, skiing, or snowboarding at cool places like the Christmas Mountain Village in the Wisconsin Dells.
.) Build a fort and have a snowball fight or buy a snow block maker and build an igloo.
.) Try a famous Wisconsin Fish Fry. Even though they are known for their burgers and Bloody Marys, Sobelman's has one amazing Fish Fry!
.) Shovel paths in the snow to make a maze.
.) Feed the birds or go birdwatching. Make your own bird feeders out of pine cones, peanut butter, and birdseed.
.) If you live near a big city, set off on foot to explore it! Make sure to have the IMS App on your phone so you can find the nearest restaurants to you on trade while you explore.
.) Go ice fishing.
.) Go to a play! Check out theaters like The Milwaukee Repertory Theater or the Waukesha Civic Theatre and get tickets from your IMS Broker!
.) Head out on a photo expedition to take pictures of the winter landscape.
.) Go on a winter picnic. Take blankets, sandwiches and hot soup in a thermos!
.) Start planning your next warm weather vacation by checking out the Travel section on the IMS webpage.
