Each of the individual 2 Gram Argor-Heraeus Kinebar Gold Bars in this listing is in brand-new condition from the mint at Argor-Heraeus. These gold bars are individually packaged by the mint within sealed blisterpacks. The pack contains a capsule space to house the gold bar and features an assay card around the capsule. That assay card has authentication details for the gold bar you’ve purchased that include the matching weight, purity, metal content, and serial number.
Kinebar technology was developed by Argor-Heraeus and its parent company UBS, or Union Bank of Switzerland, in 1993. The Kinebar technology includes an embossed application of a kinegram on the reverse. This holographic element changes colors and visual textures as you adjust the angle of viewing for the reverse of the bar.
The Argor-Heraeus logo is featured on the obverse side of 2 Gram Argor-Heraeus Kinebar Gold Bars. Along with the Argor logo on this side, you will find markings of the bar’s weight, metal content, and purity. The bar also features an assayer’s stamp on this side with a unique six-digit serial number. The serial numbers in the Kinebar Series use a six-number code.
Together with the kinegram embossment, the reverse of the 2 Gram Argor-Heraeus Kinebar Gold Bar comes with another Argor-Heraeus logo. This logo is slightly larger than the obverse and is situated at the center of the design field rather than at the top of the field.
Founded in Chiasso, Switzerland, in 1951, the company now known as Argor-Heraeus was originally Argor SA. After two decades in operation as an independent company, Argor was acquired in 1973 by Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) and later became Argor-Heraeus following a joint venture between UBS and the German Heraeus Group.
