Using Your Own Cells To Heal. So what is PRP? PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma, and is a concentrated part of our blood that is rich in platelets and growth factors, and has no red or white blood
cells. Platelets are normally part of our response to stop bleeding, but they also play a major role in development of new blood vessels and connective tissue. PRP also causes our bodies to release even more growth factors to promote healing, and can attract our own stem cells as well. All of these things stimulate tissue regeneration (hence the term Regenerative Medicine). Injection of PRP is safe, easy, and relatively non-invasive. This procedure is done in the office, with the first step simply collecting tubes of blood. The tubes are then placed in a centrifuge to separate the red and white blood cells from the plasma. The plasma with concentrated platelets is then isolated and is injected into the treatment area. This takes about an hour and there is essentially no downtime.
Hormone imbalance can negatively affect every part of our bodies and minds. Hormones help regulate how our bodies function and proper hormone balance is required for optimal health. And this is true
for both women and men. There are many signs and symptoms related to hormone issues, depending on which hormone is involved. Low estrogen in women can lead to hot flashes, mood swings, anxiety, bloating, loss of libido, increased risk of cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis, and weight gain. Excessive estrogen is associated with increased risk of breast and uterine cancer, and auto-immune diseases. Testosterone balance is also important for women. In men, testosterone is the primary hormone and low levels can lead to depression, insomnia, decreased muscle mass and bone density, and diminished libido. Optimizing hormones requires baseline testing of hormone levels, along with follow-up testing to track the effectiveness of treatment. Call today and be sure to mention IMS Barter!
